Catya Elise is a multimedia illustrator and muralist, exploring themes of gender performativity, the human body in nature, and anthropomorphism. Drawing on traditional Mexican folk art and mythology, they create bold, colourful imagery that is both playful and subversive of heteronormative gender representation. Their work often features nonbinary figures, animal and diablo masks, and a sense of nostalgia inspired by early 2000s cartoons.
